Dr. Seuss Family Night

Before all craziness broke loose in trying to pack up the house, we had 1 more big family night.  Not sure how "family night" will go while living with my parents but I'm sure we will figure something out every now and then...  We did a Dr. Seuss theme and it worked out that our local movie theater was showing The Lorax as the FREE movie!!  So the kids and I went to see the movie with friends before coming home, making our crafts, yummy desserts and preparing for our green eggs and ham biscuits.  It was a very fun day and we thank Dr. Seuss for all the inspiration!

Thought I would add these too... Anderson wanted me to take pictures of him before church, which never happens so I did... but Karoline could not take a break from her game to join us. haha

SOLD!

We officially closed on our house yesterday.... so the madness has settled down (a little) so I hope to go back and catch up on the blog... stay tuned!  We are settled a little into Mom and Dads house and praying for wisdom in picking out a lot for us to build on.  I am terrified of this adventure ahead of us! :)

God Blessed This House

I have such mixed feelings tonight.  I could possibly have put my kids to bed in their bedrooms for the last time.  Tomorrow we will move out of our home.  This house has been such a blessing.  We moved in when Anderson had just turned 1 and Karoline was 2 1/2.  This is really the only house they really know.  They were too young to remember our California home.  They learned so much and became a little man and little woman in this house!  They both experience their first days of school in this house.  The kids and even us have changed a lot in the almost 4 years we have lived here. This house has changed so much since we moved in and we are sad to leave but excited about the possibility of building another home. We should close on this house early next week and will move in with my parents.  That should be a fun journey.

But I cannot help but see Gods hands in all of this.  Yesterday my mom called telling me Dad was taken to the hospital via ambulance.  We arrived there shortly after and Mom and I were with him in the ER.  We were just talking when Dad began to have another bad seizure.  It was the SCARIEST thing I have EVER seen!  It broke my heart to see my dad so helpless and I could do nothing to help him.  All I could do was run out of the room and scream for help!

Tests have been run and there is no major damage but we have a long road ahead of us to make sure Dad is healthy.  Dad cannot drive and really should not be alone for at least 6 months.  I am thankful that with our moving in we might can help out.  Cook healthy food, go on family walks, and just be there for support.  Maybe this was what God had planned.  I don't know for sure and I could be wrong but for now, I am thankful.

So we begin another journey of our lives.  We will begin to look for a lot and pray for a "only God could do that" price :)  And pray that God will help us and guide our choices as we build a new home for our family that might be our home for a VERY long time... because this moving thing is for the birds... my back is done :)  How do we have so much stuff!  I wanted to post the pictures from our listing so I can remember my house clean :) haha

Thank you Lord for this house.  Thank you for the memories made and providing this home when we desperately needed it and helped us settle into life here in Myrtle Beach!  Thank you for the blessings of great neighbors and protection.  Thank you for our buyers who came quickly and may this home be a huge blessing for them and their young children as well!  Lord you are good and faithful!  In the good and the bad, YOU are faithful!

First Day of School!

Seems like this was just yesterday...
Summer is over... it's time for school!  We are excited about this year!  Anderson got a spot in the 1 4K class at Karoline's school just a few days before school so he was really excited to start school.   Well, so was Karoline... so much so that she woke me up at 2:30 am asking if it was almost time to get up.  THEN, at 4:30am Karoline and Anderson were BOTH up and running back and forth between their rooms and TJ had to get them back in bed... They were SO EXCITED!

Anderson walked right to his cubby and got settled and started to play and never looked back.  He's such a big boy!  Where did my baby go?  Karoline also was ready to jump right in.  They both had a fantastic day and like getting off at their new bus stop at Gammy's house.  We have lots of friends at our bus stop... It was so fun to see my little man on such a big bus.  Thank you Lord for such a great first day and we pray for an amazing year at OBE!

School Open House!

I still have a few summer blog posts to catch up on but SCHOOL STARTS TOMORROW!!!  We got a surprising call on Friday that Karoline's school had a spot for Anderson in their one 4K class!  This I pray will be a HUGE blessing for everyone!  I think since he is an older 4, he is ready for a full day of school AND it will really help the wallet :) and will give him more time to be creative and have fun while allowing my mom and dad to have a little more alone time while we are living with them and I'm at school myself.  Man, that was a long sentence!

I LOVE his teacher, Mrs. Brothers and he is very excited about going to school with Karoline.  He is sad about leaving some of his sweet friends but we just really know God will provide sweet friends for him at his new school!

Karoline walked right in her room and sat down!  She is BEYOND ready to starting learning!  I'm so proud of all the reading she did this summer and pray she transitions into 1st grade well!
Our sweet friends will also be at OBE too!  Caroline in 2nd and Carter in K!
Karoline's teacher, Miss Driscol!  She's so sweet!
Watch out OBE!!  The Goff's are on the way and taking over :)
