Happy Mother's Day

First I would like to say Happy Mother's Day to my mom! She is such a wonderful, strong woman and I really appreciate ALL that she has done for me and my family! She is such a blessing and I cannot thank her enough for her selflessness! She gives, gives, gives, and then gives some more. I especially am thankful that she now lives so close by and is committed to helping us with our children while we transition to me working and helping start Wellspring Church! Mom, we LOVE you SO much and are VERY VERY thankful for you!!

Also Happy Mother's Day to Barna, TJ's mom, who I just LOVE and I am SO thankful I have such a WONDERFUL mother-in-law! I just have to say she did an amazing job raising such a wonderful son whom I LOVE to death! Barna is so special to us and Karoline and Anderson just soak up every minute they get to spend with her. Thank you Barna for being such a wonderful mother-in-law and GiGi! We love you and wish we could give you a big hug today!

And finally, I will say that I had a GREAT Mother's Day! I LOVE being Karoline and Anderson's mom! I LOVE my babies so much and I am so thankful that the Lord has allowed me to be their mother. They are such a blessing! My dad asked me at lunch what I love best about being a mom. That's a hard question... there are tons of things. But I said that one of my favorite things is putting them to bed... NOT because that means they are asleep and I get my alone time, but because I love getting to hold and snuggle with them, read a few books, pray together, sing the "I Love You a bushle and a peck" song, and just love on each other after the craziness of the day! Being a mother (or father) is HARD work for sure. But it's when I get to just hold them it's just one of many reminders that the hard work is TOTALLY worth it! They are so amazing!

Can you guess what I got from TJ and the kids? A Cleveland Indians Vintage Tshirt... Yes a baseball tshirt :) I actully do like it but I think TJ should not be suprised if he gets something from the Ralph Lauren Polo outlet for Father's Day!

Today we went to Pine Lakes Country Club which is the golf/ swim club my parents joined (to help feed my dad's golf addiction). They just opened back up after a major remodel and I would take pictures of this place ALL DAY LONG! I might just do that one day! It's so beautiful and did an amazing job preserving the property and keeping the Southern charm. They had a special Mother's Day brunch. It was so good that we went ahead and put our name on the list for Father's Day! Here are the pictures... there's a lot... it's a perfect place for a photo shoot.

Adjusting To Small Changes

No major changes, just little ones...

1) TJ's job...
My sweet, wonderful, TIRED husband. He started a new job this week. He's working at Myrtle Beach National Golf Course. He has to be at work at 6:30AM and it's a 40 hr. a week job PLUS trying to fit in all his work for Wellspring, the band, and family! We are SO thankful God finally provided a job (outside of Wellspring) but it is hard for us all adjusting to BOTH of us working. I can't say I like it, but we'll do what we have to do.

The other one's have to do with the Little Man and how much he is changing.
2) Anderson's obsession for puzzles... He could do them ALL day long!

3)Anderson trying to feed himself= MESS...

4) Anderson climbing on the sofa and NOT understanding that he can't STAND on it! Now I have to keep my eyes on him all the time!

Today turned out to be a great day to play outside. Not too hot and not too muggy which does not happen often.

Nature

We have beautiful protected woodlands behind us which we LOVE (except when there is a wildfire) and we have seen all kinds of birds. I took a few pictures today ... The baby blue bird have hatched and it is so fun to hear them chirping. Today the mama bird and papa bird were very busy feeding their young.


We also have a bird that has made a nest on our front porch. I took that pictures through the window so it's really not great but I didn't want to scare her because her nest is very close to our front door.

We also spotted a beautiful cardinal... Karoline loved how red he was.

Enough about birds... we have frogs that like our house too :) No one told us that frogs are everywhere in South Carolina :)

Here is Buster with a frog that jumped right next to the opening of the sliding glass door. I was trying to figure out how in the world I was going to get Buster back in the house without the frog jumping in!!

Kids Clothes- Little Budget Does Not Have To Mean Little Style

I know we are all short on cash but I have found ways to feed my monogram addiction in a recession! I am inspired by a lot of other frugal mom's out there in the blog world and wanted to pass on some saving... Just because you have a little budget does not mean you have little style.

I am sure you could do the same thing with boys stuff too but TJ won't let me put anything monogrammed or smocked on him so I just have done stuff for Karoline!

If you LOVE smocked dresses and stuff as much as me but CANNOT and WILL NOT pay $50+ check out EBAY! And shop well known brands at the end of the season and buy for the next year. That's what I always do and the savings is AMAZING!

Also, I LOVE monogrammed beach towels but PBK's are like $35 so here is my solution... Walmart as some cute beach towels that we got for $5.75 and you could add a monogram and it would be about $13.

If YOU have any more $$ saving tips please let me know... I always love to learn how to save!

First is dresses: Target has the CUTEST dresses and since Karoline wakes up everyday (no lie!) and asks to wear a dress I shop their sales. I do look for dresses that can be monogrammed and then take them to my sweet lady who usually monograms for $5 or $6... makes a $12.00 Target dress fabulous! Much better than the $50 dresses I usually see in boutiques and catalogs. I did 4 dresses for the summer season. Here is one of them she wore the other night...

I did it with bathing suits too... I LOVED the monogrammed bathing suits I saw in a catalog I got but $40 for a monogrammed bathing suit- NO! How about $6.99 at suit sale at Target and a $5 monogram= $11.99... Much better! I did 2 suits for the season. Also makes a great gift, right Emily :)
