Being Festive!

AH, Peace! I have two babies sleeping and some time alone to watch my Ellen show recorded from yesterday... and post pics for my parents.

Friday night we decided to be festive and go do something "Christmasy". Emily, Ryan, and Avery came with us to see some Christmas lights and ride the merry-go-round. The girls had a good time except that Karoline was SCARED the whole time of the moving animals (like at Chucky Cheese) and all the people.

He is SO CUTE!

We tried to get a family picture but I was not willing to take Anderson out of his car seat. We tried but looks like Anderson didn't make it :)

Karoline was even scared of the moving train at first, but finally went to the window to look at it. When it came close to her she would jump.

One of the only smiles from the night...

Karoline was afraid of the Merry Go Round until it started moving and then she liked it...

Sleeping Through The Night

According to the experts Anderson is "sleeping through the night"... according to me, he is not. Anderson slept for 7 hrs straight last night from 9:30PM to 4:30AM. That is wonderful and believe me it was great... problem is that we don't go to bed until midnight so I still only got 4 1/2 hrs. of sleep until I had to get up. After that feeding he went down until 7:30AM, and then back down until 9AM. It was great. So, yes I am thankful that Anderson is sleeping that long and I think we are even going to try and earlier bedtime tonight. Last night he was really crabby and I think he could have gone to bed at 9PM instead of 9:30PM... NOT THAT YALL REALLY CARE! I am just getting my thoughts out :)
Anyway... Hope you enjoyed the pictures. My mom was really ready for some new pics.
The lazy Anderson...

Bath time....

The Perfect Gift- I found on Shutterfly.com that you can take a picture and make a Dora the Explorer book and put your child in the story with Dora. Perfect for Karoline so since it was on sale and free shipping because of Christmas I went ahead and got it for her.... don't tell her though. Anyway, I used this cute picture of her for the book. I can't wait to see the final product.

Anderson's Dedication

Anderson will be 7 weeks old tomorrow... honestly, I am so glad those first 6 weeks are behind me. Those first 6 weeks are just not my favorite. I feel like I KNOW my son now. I know what makes him happy, I know what makes him mad, I know when he wants to nap, I know when he wants his pacifier and to be left alone, I know when he wants to be held, I know when he is hungry, I know he HATES sleeping on his back and he will only sleep on his tummy, and I know when he wants to go to bed every night. The first 6 weeks you spend trying to figure all this stuff out... I am starting to get a little more sleep at night and oh how I need it. We have been sick at our house again and I am getting tired of it. I think it is a combo of me not resting enough and TJ being very busy with work and him not getting enough rest too. Either way, we need your prayers to stay well.

Dedication- Today we dedicated Anderson to the Lord at our church. It was a special time and I wish our family and friends from home could have been there. Anderson slept through the dedication. Pastor Dave said a beautiful prayer. We are so thankful for Anderson and that the Lord has blessed us with him.

Last night we had TJ's staff Christmas party. It was a lot of fun. We took Anderson with us but Karoline got to go to Avery's house. She was SO excited. When I told her she was going she grabbed her bad and went straight to the door. It was really cute. She had a fun time paying with Avery. We are so thankful for Emily and Ryan... they are like family to us here!

My Sweet Children

We have had a great week except that I got a 24 hr. sick thingy and it was not so good. TJ had to stay home a little to help me out with the kids. Karoline was not feeling so hot either and she and I watched Dora in bed all morning. It was good bonding time. I have the sweetest children and husband and I am so blessed. Enjoy the pics from this week. The video's are at the bottom and are pretty cute.
All Smiles- Anderson smiles all the time now and laughs too. He is even "talking" a little!

Crafts- Karoline and I made a Christmas tree out of all our family's handprints. Getting Anderson's was hard.

Pacifier- Karoline always makes sure Anderson has his pacifier.

Play Time
Even Karoline wanted to play on the play gym...

Anderson loves to look at himself in the mirror... Like father like son I guess! JK

I Spoke Too Soon- Twice!

WARNING: Not for those with weak stomachs...
Just the other day TJ and I were talking about how Anderson has not had many explosive poo's yet like Karoline used to have. I just remember having to treat her poo stains ALL the time. Well, I spoke too soon! I will not go into detail but for two nights in a row Anderson really got me and and TJ good! You would not believe the mess this boy made! It was the grossest thing I have ever seen. So I tell TJ, "This really makes Karoline's throw up seem like nothing, doesn't it?" ...

Moving on to 2:00AM when I expect Anderson to be waking up. I turn on the screan of the video monitor and see Anderson quietly moving around. He closes his eyes and I think "YES! He is going to go back to sleep" and he does! I turn the screan off and then I hear crys of "MOMMY, MOMMY", turn my screan back on, flip the switch to Karoline's room and she is sitting up CRYING in bed... I spoke too soon again. There she was sitting in a pile of throw up! I felt so bad for her. She kept saying "Wet, Wet" and she could not stop shaking. We got her all cleaned up and yes, all her screaming woke Anderson up. So we had two crying babies at 2AM! Just for the record... I think throw up is the worst!

Anyway, enjoy the pics and the picture at the bottom is of the sweet girls that entertain Karoline after church every Sunday! They are so cute...

Smiles!

Anderson has really started to make some cute faces during his awake time. It is so cute. I just had to share some pictures. We also went to the doc this week to discuss the possibility of him having reflux. He does have mild reflux now (hints the bib he is wearing to catch the spit up) and we hope it does not get worse. It is not affecting his weight gain though... he was 10 lbs. 9 oz. It is hard with breastfeeding but we are making it work. Add this to the fact that he is at that strange 5/6 week fussy period and Karoline is teething... it has kind of been a hard week, but the smiles I am getting out of him make everything okay! Karoline has also been quite the entertainer this week... she is so funny. I wish you all could see her in action. Anyway, enjoy...

Avocado In My Brownies

My in-laws bought me this cookbook I wanted really badly for Christmas. It is called Deceptively Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld. I saw her on Oprah and knew I wanted to get the book. Anyway, tonight I made Karoline some Peanut Butter and Banana Muffins with cauliflower in them. They were SOOOOO good. I ate all the extra batter off of the bowl... oh and I used my Kitchen Aid mixer! That makes three times this year! I have got to use that thing more.
I love the idea of making normal everyday dishes, desserts, and snacks with just an added bit of extra vegetables. If you are a mom you need this cookbook. It has so many great ideas. Tomorrow morning I am going to make Karoline's normal omelet but this time I will add cauliflower to it to sneak in a little bit more nutrition. This weekend I am going to try the brownies that are made with avocado... who would have ever dreamed. Anyway, just wanted to pass on this great find. It's a must have!

Back to Reality

My mom and dad are in need of new pictures of the kids so dispite the fact that my house it turned upside down I will make time for a post since Christmas is not too far away... I want to say on their good side right!?

TJ's parents left this morning so we are back to reality at our house... thank goodness TJ got dismissed from his jury duty so he will be able to be home for breakfast and lunches as usual. We had a great time with TJ's parents and were so thankful for every minute we got to spend with them. They really enjoyed meeting their new grandson. Here are a TON of pics from the week. There are too many cute pictures to choose from. I am also putting a video of Anderson at the end. He more alert every day and I just LOVE IT! Enjoy...

Here is Anderson in my favorite sleeper...

What a precious little girl...

I am working really hard at keeping Anderson up during the day. All he wants to do is sleep...day and night thankfully though. I was trying to keep him awake and play and he flat out protested.... he would NOT open his eyes!

Yesterday Karoline brought her Dora coloring pad into the kitchen to draw...
