Kindergarten Update and Babies...

Karoline is adjusting SO well to Kindergarten. She walks into that big school all by herself and loves it! She loves to learn... so much so that we had to explain to her it was okay to dance in class when the teacher wants you to... she feels like you are at school to learn and should not dance! She wants to get down to business! I pray she always has this hunger to learn and succeed! She, of course, gets a star everyday on her conduct calendar and gets to get something out of the "treasure box" at school on Fridays.

She has met some sweet new friends, one of which is a boy named Thatcher! She is going to be boy crazy like me I believe :) haha... Her friends, teachers, everything... we are so very thankful for... God is good!

Babies, babies, everywhere... So many friends having babies (thankful I'm not one of them). We hosted a baby shower for Karoline's teacher at church, Abbie.

Anderson Starts School

(open house)

Anderson started 3 year preschool! I cannot believe my baby is in 3 year preschool and his 4th birthday is around the corner! WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE!? We are thankful he has the same teachers Karoline had, Mrs. Mazie and Mrs. Swezey! He has an older class, many younger 3's from last year repeating and older 3's. This will allow for a little more advanced work load which will be good for him I think. We are looking forward to a great year ahead!

Kindergarten!

How did this little preschooler...
Turn into a kindergartner?!...

A new phase of life began today. No tears where shed, just hugs and kisses filled with excitement about the future and what God has planned for Karoline! I was thinking today about what was wrong with me, with so many moms crying as they left their kids at school, but I think I have my mom to thank. I just remember with each new phase of life my mom never cried. She was so excited for me and knew that the new phase of life was the best thing for me... so no tears! We were all just too excited!

Anderson stayed with mom and dad last night so TJ and I could get up with Karoline and focus on her and both take her to school. We were walking in when some good friends where walking out and took a picture for us and another friend walked by... seeing a familiar face was wonderful!

Karoline walked write in the room, found her spot to put her back pack and lunch box and started coloring and talking to her friend, Daphne, from our church that sits at her table (a God thing!). Her teacher Mrs. Goodwin is awesome and we are thankful for God blessing us with an amazing teacher for Karoline.

So by the end of the day I was ready for her to be home. Mom, Dad, Anderson and I walked to the bus stop and waited. She was so excited to ride the bus and got off smiling! Her bus driver was so nice. I did a little interview with her so she could tell you about her day:

Did you sleep well last night? "I fell asleep like at 9:00 because I was a little too excited."

Was it early when you had to get up this morning? "Yes, wonder why they make you wake up so early, I'm really tired"

Where you nervous when Daddy and I left your class? "No"

What was your favorite thing about your teacher? "That she doesn't have to make you read at first, you get to listen to her read"

Who are your friends in your class? "Brianna, Meredith, Daphne, and Jada (she's new)"

Do you like making new friends and why? "Yes, sometimes you get nervous at first but then you get kind of use to it."

What was your favorite part of playing on the playground? "They have this slide that looks kind of like a water slide at Myrtle Waves, like the ski jump one, but it's not. Also, there's a fun bridge you get to walk off and on to see this puddle. We can't step in it but I like to look at it and it makes you feel happy."

What was your favorite part during lunch? "That they give you like 35 minutes to eat and they also let you finish it when it's time to go. "

Who did you sit next to at lunch? "I sat by a boy on the right and a girl on the left. They were strangers." New friends? "Not yet, they are strangers still right now."

What did you do in PE? "I can't believe I'm telling you this but practically nothing. But next time I can NOT wear a dress or skirt, okay, you have to remember that."

What was your favorite park about riding the bus? "Watching you guys taking pictures and videos. My favorite part of walking home was telling you all about my school and how we do stuff and learn."

What was your FAVORITE part of the whole day? "Riding the bus home!"

Did you miss me at all while you were at school? "Yes, I missed playing too. Like they have toys but sometimes you can't play with them because you have work to do. How can that be possible?"

The Last Days Of Summer

It's been a while since my last post. I spent most of the first part of August studying the getting ready for another test for fitness certification then the second week doing a few Premier shows, Anderson went to camp at school and I got some special alone time with Karoline. But a highlight the second week was that ANDERSON LEARNED TO SWIM! He took off and has done so well!

This past week we enjoyed having great friends come stay with us. Kim with her two kids, Kylie (4) and Cohen (2) and Sarah and her sweet boy, Grey (16 m). We had a great time with the kids and saying up late talking about life and high school memories. I am very thankful for the time we had together! It was so fun!

The kids all had a blast. Karoline and Kylie stayed in Karoline's room a few nights. The first night they stayed up talking past midnight and got up around 5AM and started coloring!! They were so funny!. We were sad to see them leave Friday morning.

Cohen has a BLAST on his first ride on the cars at Broadway

This was their "boat" or "island"... they would sleep then fall off and rescue each other...
they did this for over an hour!

A few other things... I took Karoline and her sweet friend Caroline out one night to ride the rides at Broadway and get ice cream. It was so fun. We also went to Myrtle Waves on Friday after Kim & Sarah left. Karoline had been asking to go ALL summer but it's costly so I kept putting it off. TJ was given passes last weekend so we all got to go. It was fun... NOTHING like White Water, but the kids liked it. Karoline rode every ride and Anderson did too except the dark rides. We even ran into several friends. It was a great ending to a VERY FUN summer! I cannot believe my baby girl will be in Kindergarten tomorrow!

Karoline spent MOST of her summer coloring and creating if we were not at the beach or pool. She did this one tonight... She is really excited about taking a special art class this year.
